About ASCII
(Pronounced: "ask-key")
The ASCII (American Standard Code for Information
Interchange) is a standard seven-bit code. The code was
originally set to achieve compatibility between types of
data processing devices. For instance it is commonly used
for microcomputer equipment. This set of numbers range from
0-127. They are normally what you see on your keyboard,
letters, numbers, punctuation marks, and signs.
The most common is using the ALT + the character's
decimal (Dec) #. So if I want to type "%" I'll press ALT +
37. You can also apply the decimal to html by adding
&# to the front and the
; to the end. For instance
+
is
+.
