File Size Chart

Each graphic, document, web page, and program has a measurement of data known as a file size. The file size follows under the computer's unit of measurement in bytes. Below is a basic chart.

Bit = 0 or 1
8 Bits = 1 Byte
1024 Bytes = 1 KiloByte
1024 KiloBytes = 1 MegaByte
1024 MegaBytes = 1 GigaByte
1024 GigaBytes = 1 TeraByte

How to calculate bytes of a file.

Let's say a small graphic that is 10092 bytes and that you want to find out how many bits are in it.  Use the equation below.
10092(bytes) * 8(bits per byte) = 80736

If I want to the total KiloBytes of 10092 bytes I work with the following equation:
10092(bytes) / 1024(bytes per kilobyte) = 9.85 (short for: 9.85546875)
